SEBI Conducts Awareness Program for CMA Students on Stock Market and Fraud Prevention

New Delhi, November 19, 2024: The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) organized a special awareness program for Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) students during the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024. The event, aimed at imparting knowledge about the stock market and preventing financial fraud, was held at the IITF venue and saw participation from esteemed market professionals and students alike.

The session was led by Shri N. Hariharan Ji from SEBI, who shared valuable insights into the workings of the financial markets, as well as common frauds and methods of prevention. The session was well-attended by CMA students, who were enthusiastic about understanding the intricacies of the share market and enhancing their financial literacy.

Representatives from Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), CPAI, National Stock Exchange (NSE), Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Central Depository Services Limited (CDSL), and other market exchanges also graced the occasion, offering their expertise and answering queries from the students. The presence of these industry leaders provided a unique opportunity for attendees to gain comprehensive knowledge of financial markets from different perspectives.

Shri B.K. Sabhawal Ji hosted the program, ensuring a seamless flow of information and interactive discussions. Shri Anju Gupta Ji from HDFC Securities actively conducted various segments of the session, making the experience highly engaging and practical for the students.

CMA Madhuri Kashyap, Regional Council Member of the Northern India Regional Council (NIRC) of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, played a significant role in gathering more than 100 students to attend this enriching event. Her efforts were instrumental in ensuring that young CMA aspirants had the opportunity to learn directly from market experts.

Shri N. Hariharan Ji was also felicitated by CMA Sandeep Kumar, Founder of the International Navodaya Chamber of Commerce, in recognition of his valuable contribution to spreading awareness and educating future financial professionals.
